INTRODUCTION

ABOUT MORABITO

Born in Naples in 1885, Jean-Baptiste Morabito opened his first jewellery boutique in Nice in 1905, at the height of the Belle Époque. Inspired by his apprenticeship in Rome, he developed a distinctive artistic vision, creating exquisite evening bags adorned with jewellery and crafted from precious materials such as tortoiseshell and exotic leathers. The Maison, renowned for its exclusive leather creations, soon became a favourite among the European aristocracy and international high society, establishing itself as an emblem of elegance on the Côte d’Azur during the flourishing Art Nouveau era.

Morabito subsequently opened an elegant boutique on rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, where his exceptional creations garnered international acclaim. Guided by a unique aesthetic sensibility and the refined craftsmanship of a jeweller, Jean-Baptiste devoted his life to creating pieces of enduring beauty. Today, this heritage and savoir-faire continue to define Morabito — bringing a touch of splendour to life’s most memorable moments and the quiet elegance of everyday life.

Inspired by the traditional vanity case, the Orsay holds everything a modern woman might need, combining practicality with unmistakable elegance.
Its name derives from the former Gare d’Orsay in Paris, evoking a world of travel, exoticism, mystery and secrets.

TRAVIATA

A special commission for the legendary opera singer Maria Callas, this exceptional bag takes its name from her iconic performance of Verdi’s “La Traviata”.
Celebrating the beauty of the arts, this luxurious and exclusive creation is distinguished by its graceful, curved, harp-shaped handle and adorned with golden details inspired by the Prima Donna’s personal talisman.
TRAVIATA is celebrated not only for its exquisite beauty, but also as one of Morabito’s most emblematic creations — a timeless expression of grace, sophistication and feminine elegance.

VENDÔME

This bag pays homage to Place Vendôme, the legendary Parisian square renowned for the world’s most prestigious jewellery houses and an emblematic address in the history of the Maison Morabito for more than half a century.

STITCHING

The exceptional creations of Morabito’s SIGNATURE line are meticulously handcrafted using the traditional French technique known as Cousu Main — a precious savoir-faire passed down through generations of artisans.
Each stitch is formed by passing a single thread through both ends of the needle, carefully crossing the threads by hand. This painstaking process creates an exceptionally strong and enduring bond, with every stitch bearing the unmistakable mark of the artisan’s skill, precision and patience.
Through this rare and time-honoured savoir-faire, each creation transcends the ordinary to become a true work of art — uniting distinctive beauty with enduring strength, and destined to be cherished and passed down from one generation to the next.

02 MATERIALS

Since its founding, Morabito has cultivated exceptional expertise in the art of working with the world’s finest and most precious leathers.
From the very beginning, the Maison crafted exceptional pieces in crocodile, reindeer and antelope, establishing a reputation for an uncompromising mastery of rare and exceptional materials.

Today, this exacting standard remains at the heart of Morabito. Every material is carefully selected for its rarity, character and natural beauty — from our emblematic exotic leathers, including crocodile, ostrich, lizard and python, to the finest lambskin and calfskin.
Each leather is chosen with the same discerning eye and unwavering dedication to excellence that have defined the Maison throughout its history.

03 JEWELLERY &
METALWORK

Following in his father’s footsteps, Jean-Baptiste Morabito developed an early passion for the art of metalwork, which would become an essential part of his creative heritage.
His success began with exceptional works of goldsmithing, including exquisite bags framed in gold and adorned with intricate engravings and finely crafted metalwork.
This jewellery heritage remains at the heart of the Maison’s creations today.

Precious metalwork is conceived not merely as an embellishment, but as an art in its own right, enhancing the elegance and character of each leather creation.
Every detail is thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted, receiving the same exacting attention devoted to the finest jewels. Inspired by jewellery, architecture, monuments and timeless symbols, these distinctive motifs lend each creation a singular presence and enduring beauty.

04 ELEGANCE

The story of MORABITO’s distinctive elegance and exclusivity began with its founder, Jean-Baptiste Morabito, and his vision of creating a Maison where the art of jewellery would meet the world of exceptional leather creations.
From precious materials and refined craftsmanship emerged creations of extraordinary distinction — bags adorned with gold, silver, coral and tortoiseshell, and finished with exquisite diamond-set clasps.
Every detail, however subtle, reflects the Maison’s jewellery heritage and its uncompromising pursuit of beauty.
It is this singular attention to detail that has come to define the unmistakable elegance of MORABITO — an elegance where jewellery, craftsmanship and exceptional leather meet in perfect harmony.
